May is Boxycharm's birthday month and to celebrate - every subscriber received 6 items instead of 5. The only variation for this month was the lip product - either Beauty Creations or Han Skin Care lipgloss. I received the former.
Products consisted of brushes, a highlight/contour palette, lipgloss, ink gel eyeliner and face primer.
Pro Brush Trio Series by Aesthetica, valued at $45. The first of two brush products. There's your ordinary spoolie, a fine tipped eyeliner brush and an angled brush which can be used for both liner and brows.
Blurring Primer by Cover FX, valued at $38. This is a very nice, lightweight tinted primer. Though it could be better with hiding pores, it does create a wonderful base for your makeup.
P12 Face Brush by Aesthetica, valued at $27. The last brush in the May box. This face brush is incredibly soft, and can be used for setting powder, to blush and bronzer. A very nice, versatile brush.
The Ink Gel Eyeliner by Pretty Vulgar, valued at $22. With any liquid or gel liner - wait until it's completely dry to avoid smudging. This one comes in a gorgeous little pot with gold accents, and is beautifully pigmented.
Sculptor Palette by PUR, valued at $30. This four panned palette has two beautiful highlighters and two matte contour shades. I love this because the matte contours, and the highlighters are perfect for everyday wear. Unexpected surprise - it smells amazing.
Long Wear Matte Lipgloss by Beauty Creations, valued at $10. The shade I received is the lighter of the two, called "Sweet Heart". However, not long after applying, it looks about the shade of the other tube, which is a bummer. Also just a side rant because it annoys the hell outta me - matte lip gloss is not. a. thing. By definition!! Stop trying to make matte lipgloss happen!
Total value of May BoxyBash = $172
Overall rating: 4/5
